Patrick Allemand: “Christian Estrosi makes the people of Nice believe that he is sacrificing himself”

Latest News

Patrick Allemand strongly reacted to Christian Estrosi’s announcement that he would resign from his government position if elected. The PS candidate leading a united left list in Nice, urges the people of Nice not to be fooled by the UMP candidate.
“I do not want the women and men of Nice to be deceived by a pseudo sacrifice. Moreover, itโ€™s very inconsistent since he kept saying that it was very important for Nice to have a mayor who is also a minister.”

He then discussed, in front of the press, the other topics of the day. Journalists, from all media, slightly disappointed by Christian Estrosi’s morning press briefing, were able to address important issues. Firstly: the list proposed to the people of Nice on Sunday:
“Michel Matringe went to submit our list for the second round to the prefecture. It remains unchanged between the two rounds.” Patrick Allemand thus put an end to speculation that would have had co-listers from Patrick Mottard (Diverse left and dissident socialist) join his list. He explains this choice: “I have submitted a profession of faith where there will be a platform. It is titled: 16 measures to change the era on March 16. Patrick Mottard can be reassured. His ideas will be defended by my co-listers and myself at the city councils. For now, there is no call. Patrick Mottard is a man who has been committed to the left for thirty years, still a general councilor. There are possible questions about the future but not about this municipal election. I do not want to change a list with people who have been fighting alongside me for months.”

Patrick Allemand remains confident. He pulled out his calculator while refuting the arithmetic (“1+1 does not always make 3 in politics”): “Everything is still possible. When we add up the votes from the left and moderate lists, we are only one point behind Christian Estrosi. We must not do what happened seven years ago where, by not believing, we failed so close to the goal.” Cap 21, the ecological party led by Corinne Lepage, has called to vote for the Changez d’รจre list. A first step. Others are coming: like the meeting on Thursday at Acropolis at 6:30 PM or the debate between the three candidates also on Thursday.
