Organized by the initiative of AIST, the Association of Engineers of TELECOM PARIS, and the Sophia-Antipolis Foundation, this afternoon of discussions on the theme of free software, will take place under the chairmanship of Senator Pierre LAFFITTE.
AIST is committed to publishing an issue in June 2007 dedicated to this topic. Forty individuals or companies have already responded to its call for papers, coming from various backgrounds: free communities, SS2L, integrators, consultants, journalists.
For its part, the Sophia-Antipolis Foundation hosts the Sophia Open Source Club, whose purpose is the promotion and awareness of open source solutions.
It seemed interesting to AIST and the Foundation to create an exchange on this theme between actors from different professions and geographical locations, to bring together individuals and companies from Sophia-Antipolis and the รle-de-France.
– The first part of the meeting will be devoted to aspects related to research and “normative” aspects. Notably speaking will be a director of the IEEE, Mr. Jean-Gabriel REMY, and a representative of the Interoperability and Modernization of the State, Mr. Pascal SOUHARD.
– The second part will be devoted to the viewpoint of users, such as Amadeus, C.A.N.C.A., Capgemini, WHP…
The event will take place on March 16, 2007, at 2 PM (with workshops and demonstrations starting from 11 AM) in the Picasso room, Place Sophie Laffitte in Sophia Antipolis.
