The Board of Directors of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee will announce on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, their decision regarding the choice of the city for the French bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This marks a new phase and the final one for the candidate cities vying to host the 2018 Winter Games: Grenoble, Pelvoux, Annecy, and Nice.
The candidacy of the city eventually selected will be presented to the International Olympic Committee next May.
Tentative Program:
– 10:00 AM: Reception of delegations from the pre-bidding cities
– 10:30 AM: Reception of the press
– 10:50 AM: Opening by Henri Sérandour (amphitheater – public session)
– 11:00 AM: Start of voting (Council room – closed session)
– From 11:10 AM: Announcement of the voting results as they come in, live in the amphitheater
– From approximately 11:45 AM: Announcement of the final decision by the CNOSF Board of Directors
– Press conference with Henri Sérandour and, if applicable, the mayor of the selected city.
