The 12,000 inhabitants (of whom 34% are youth under 19 years of age) will see their living environment deeply transformed through the creation of housing, the rehabilitation of buildings, the construction of public facilities, business premises, public spaces, and gardens.
On Thursday, March 19, Christian Estrosi, Deputy-Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Urban Community, will inaugurate Saint-Louis Park in the heart of the neighborhood, a complex of 42 housing units built by the social housing provider Erilia. It’s an important stage of the urban renovation project as it includes, among the tenants, 33 households relocated after their departure from the Saint-Pierre building, which is slated for demolition in 2010.
This building, which consists of 2 one-bedroom apartments, 10 two-bedroom apartments, 17 three-bedroom apartments, 11 four-bedroom apartments, and 2 five-bedroom apartments, was delivered in December 2008. The total cost of the operation is โฌ6,913,649 including all taxes.
