As part of the 6th edition of the National Sustainable Development Week (SNDD), students from the ComEDD Master’s program are organizing events around three themes to officially mark their University’s entry into the era of eco-responsibility. This year, transportation modes, waste management, and the quality of the living environment are highlighted to inaugurate the establishment of an “eco-responsible campus” at Carlone.
This event is open to anyone interested in the discussed themes. Every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, students will welcome you on the courtyard of the faculty to answer your questions about Sustainable Development and calculate your ecological footprint. Additionally, you can discover or rediscover the latest exhibitions by Yann Arthus Bertrand, “Biodiversity” (displayed at the University Library) and “Sustainable Development” (at the student center). Guides will enhance your experience with the artworks and the artist’s approach (scheduled sessions on Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 PM and Thursday from 2 PM to 4 PM).
Following the conference on Tuesday, April 1st from 11 AM to 12 PM titled “Behavioral Changes and Eco-responsibility at the University,” join us for the first highlight of the day with the signing of the “Sustainable Development Charter” by Mr. the Dean, Prof. Jean-Yves Boursier. The enhancement of the Faculty of Letters, Arts, and Human Sciences site will also be featured during history-themed tours (from 1 PM to 3 PM), presenting the architecture of the campus designated “20th Century Heritage of the PACA Region.” On the courtyard, you can meet the Association of Collective Solidarities 2000 (ACS 2000) to learn more about “alternative consumption modes” and “solidarity waste management.” You will also have the opportunity to taste fair-trade products offered by Artisans of the World.
On Wednesday, April 2nd, Equipage06 will answer your questions about carpooling from 10 AM to 2 PM on the courtyard. The afternoon will be filled with a fun “Clean Up the Campus” event with the participation of recycling ambassadors from CANCA (from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM). You can attend a presentation of fair-trade clothing and accessories provided by the association Artisans of the World, worn by student models. To end the evening beautifully, a cocktail concert will start at 6 PM with the band Reset, accompanied by a tasting of organic and/or fair-trade products.
On the last day, from 10 AM to 5 PM, students will offer a “Your Campus Moves, how about you?” day, with trials of electric bikes on the courtyard, provided by Culture Vรฉlo. Information on alternative transportation will be offered and you will be able to calculate, with the help of an eco-comparator, the proper transportation mode that best suits you. You will also find a presentation by Artisans of the World of consumable products and crafts from fair trade between 12 PM and 5 PM.
These events are part of the annual project of the students from the Professional Master 2 in ComEDD, initiators of the Sustainable Development approach on the Carlone campus. Designed for the long term, this project will be carried by future master promotions and will support the Faculty administration in its commitment to engage. The Master’s program in Environmental Communication and Sustainable Development, created in 2006, trains students in communication on the themes of eco-citizenship and territorial valorization… A small step for the Faculty of Letters, a big one for eco-responsibility!
With the participation of Martine Geninazza and Lakhdar Rahim Guealia.
