The association that brings together the Piedmontese of our city is celebrating its 20th anniversary during the weekend of May 16th and 17th.
Its president, Marco Lombardi, together with the Board of the association, wanted to organize a quality program by inviting Professor Romain Rainero from the Universitร degli Studi of Milan at the Faculty of Political Sciences, known in Nice for being the head of the Leonardo Chair at the CUM, to speak about their Piedmontese roots in a conference “One Hundred Years of Piedmontese Immigration in France.”
This will be an opportunity to recall a shared history among many residents of Nice, since it is known that the immigration of Italians from Piedmont was one of the oldest and most numerous.
The academician Max Gallo in his famous and unforgettable trilogy “La Baie des Anges” wonderfully recounted the history of one of these families.
The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 6 pm at the Michelangelo room of the Consulate General of Italy, at 72 Boulevard Gambetta.
The program will continue the following day at 11 am, still at the Michelangelo room, with the Badia Corale from the Val Chisone presenting traditional songs in Piedmontese dialect that belong to the historical and cultural heritage of this cross-border region.
This concert is organized by the Comites (Committee of Italians Abroad) of Nice with the support of the Government of the Piedmont Region.
