“We owe you a lot”. These four words spoken by Senator Mayor Jacques Peyrat are enough to characterize the importance of the FIER Entreprendre Association on the French Riviera. It was well worth celebrating in a prestigious location with an energetic patron, Laurence Cotte-Martinon, the head of a business in Nice. Marielle Walicki, president of FIER Entreprendre, before handing over to Ariel Poinsignon, perfectly orchestrated the evening.

“The Flame that inspires us daily brings to life the creation of businesses, finances your projects, and supports your success,” declares the association’s slogan. It is substantiated by a few numbers. Since its inception, 537 businesses have been supported (93 in 2006 with a total of €730,000 in honor loans compared to €584,000 in 2005, €423,000 in 2004, and €149,000 in 1998). In total, since 1998, 868 jobs have been created (169 in 2006, 156 in 2005, 105 in 2004, 43 in 1998). FIER Entreprendre hopes to exceed 100 supported businesses in 2007. Since January, 35 businesses have already been supported and 68 jobs created. FIER Entreprendre emphasizes that the association remains vigilant about the repayment of Public Funds lent. 94% have been repaid. Another statistic valorizing the work of Marielle Walicki and her team is that of businesses still in activity. Given the very short life expectancy of a company, the result of 78% still thriving is more than commendable.
