A Forum Organized Around 8 Hubs
This year, recent high school graduates will be welcomed around eight different hubs. These hubs correspond to the needs, expectations, and questions of prospective students. Professionals will be present at the booths to provide information and reassurance to best prepare them for the start of their 2007 academic year.
– Housing:
FISE facilitates the search for housing, offers useful addresses with the presence on site of CROUS, CAF, and numerous private partners.
– Transportation:
The campuses are connected by a public transport network. To encourage students to use public transport, Ligne d’Azur will highlight bus routes and the upcoming arrival of the tramway.
– Student Life:
Because a student’s daily life does not stop at the end of lecture classes, volunteer students from the Federation of Student Associations and Corporations of 06 (FACE06) will be there to present the activities they implement to animate the Nice campuses.
– Health:
FISE welcomes health professionals (preventive medicine and CPAM) as well as student mutual insurance companies.
– Job / Internship:
The Regional Youth Information Center (CRIJ) will offer future students the opportunity to more easily find a part-time job or an internship.
– Sports and Culture:
Students will be able to discover all the cultural and sporting offerings provided by the city of Nice and the Nice Sophia-Antipolis University.
– Finance:
FISE brings together banks (Banque Populaire and Crรฉdit Lyonnais) and advises students on account opening procedures and offers for loans, insurances…
– Scholarships:
Students will find answers to all their questions about scholarships offered by CROUS and the General Council.
University Pre-Registration
As in 2006, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis will host a pre-registration hub entirely at the disposal of new bachelors, equipped with about fifteen computers connected to its registration server, to enable them to carry out their pre-registration (the first mandatory step for all new bachelors to enroll at the University) with support and guidance provided by the University’s staff.
Important: to proceed with their pre-registration, new bachelors must bring their BEA number (The BEA number is found on the baccalaureate grade report and consists of 10 digits and a letter).
This first step will enable them to obtain an appointment with the registration service of their future campus to submit their registration folder.
Once this first step is completed, future students will retrieve their registration folder (also available on the University’s website). The registration folder contains several elements: in addition to the folder, students must fill out a form for social security and a charter for good use of IT and networks, and a membership bulletin for SUAPS (University Service for Physical and Sports Activities) if the student wishes to engage in sporting activity at the University.
New bachelors will be assisted and guided by University staff representing numerous services, notably:
– The registration services of the UFR Sciences, Law-Eco-Management, Letters-Arts-Human Sciences, and STAPS (Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities)
– The SCUIO – Common University Information and Orientation Service
– The University Library
– The SUAPS: University Service for Physical and Sports Activities
– The SMPPS: Service for Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion
Students will thus be able to inform themselves in real-time about registration procedures and university courses, all disciplines combined, and discover their future university environment as well as the many services that will support their studies.
This folder will be submitted to the registration service of their future faculty, accompanied by the various required documents, during the appointment set at the time of their pre-registration.
