The disparate works in this exhibition, more or less modern and in various mediums, have only one thing in common: South Korea. Indeed, the exhibition brings together 5 Korean artists. They have traveled to the Cรดte d’Azur to present their works in a unique setting, the very chic cafรฉ of the Casino Ruhl.

The elegant bags and jewelry, in very bright colors, by Ms. Choi Nam Son, create a striking contrast with the black and white photos of Mr. Kim Kyung Sang, depicting Korean landscapes and peasants. Two opposing worlds that blend discreetly to the right of the cafรฉ counter. The two other artists are painters.

Portraits and still lifes in watercolor by Ms. Rhee Nam Hee. Colorful portraits of Africans by Ms. Kim Sun Hee. The latter, a painter with a degree from Seoul University, exhibits regularly in France: “I work 8 months out of 12 at the Gallery in Seoul, the other 4 months I spend in France. Currently, we are working on an exchange between Korean and French artists, who in turn are to come to exhibit in Seoul. I’m also going to have an exhibition in Berlin.”

Hung on the wall, facing the Promenade des Anglais, the Korean artworks at the Cafรฉ Ruhl cost approximately between 800 and 2000 euros. Attention, art enthusiasts…
