The clearing work on road RD 2566 between Sospel and Moulinet, below the cliff, began on September 28, 2009.
In total, more than 5,000 m3 need to be cleared and removed. The duration of this operation is estimated to be 1 month and should allow for a partial reopening of RD 2566 around November 15, 2009. Alternating traffic flow, in the morning and evening, will be implemented until the completion of the work expected by the end of 2009.

Rock falls on October 28 and November 3, 2008, led, as a safety measure for users, to suspend circulation on RD 2566 between Sospel and Moulinet.

The work consisted, after geological expert assessments and studies, of purging the unstable areas, reinforcing the cliff, and installing protective nets.

To date, these works represent:
290 days of purging,
2,340 mยฒ of class 9 screens over 310 linear meters,
13 aprons,
1,262 linear meters of anchors,
689 mยฒ of netting installed,
1,202 linear meters of retaining cables,

350 hours of installation by helicopter.

The total cost of the work is estimated at 3 million euros.
