The beginning of 2006 marked the grand return of this singer with a unique voice with the release of her album “Vraie.” Nice-Première introduced you to this musical favorite.
This Saturday, the “fnacians” were eagerly awaiting her, and she gave them everything!
Accompanied by two guitarists, Corinne Hermès presented her new work with “Pop folk variety” tones. “It’s incredible how she transitions from low to high notes with such ease. What’s her secret?” A natural secret! It even seems that when you expect her to sing “Je suis malade,” the emotion is so intense it brings salty tears to our eyes.
In “Vraie,” Corinne Hermès is a singer-songwriter. But Corinne Hermès is above all an Artist, a generous and passionate artist who doesn’t have an inflated ego, as they say, and with whom you can easily and simply chat at the end of a concert.
And Nice-Première did not miss this opportunity!
Nice-Première: What’s your first impression when you step off the stage?
Corinne Hermès: Happy, very happy. Especially when I feel that the audience really engaged. Generally, there are no issues; it’s always so enjoyable to see the audience enthusiastic and following along. But there have been times when I’ve encountered slightly more challenging, less expressive audiences. At that point, it’s a lot harder. They come to see you at the end, but they struggle to participate. It’s a bit tougher for us because we feel like we’re treading water.
N-P: Does it hurt a bit?
C.H.: Yes, but today it was a very good impression, an immense joy.
N-P: Do you have a routine before going on stage?
C.H.: Only concentration. For five minutes, I isolate myself and focus. Then I jump into the arena.
N-P: A bit of stage fright?
C.H.: Yes… but anyway, to do this job, you have to like to suffer. You have to be a bit of a “maso.” It’s terrible! Before going on stage, there’s a fairly constant anxiety, but afterward, you’re at home.
N-P: How did the FNAC tour go?
C.H.: Very, very well.
N-P: And the meeting with the public?
C.H.: It was great. Especially since it was new because it’s a new way of approaching the stage. Before, I was only an interpreter. Today, I am an interpreter-composer. I didn’t know how it would go. I’m rather happy; it suits me perfectly, and I hope to continue in that direction, doing small venues.
N-P: Is it warmer?
C.H.: Exactly, being close to the public. The big stage is less intimate.
N-P: What do people who come to see you at the end of a concert say?
C.H.: That they loved it overall, the songs, the lyrics.
N-P: Today is your last FNAC. Any future projects?
C.H.: I will do a series of concerts in venues, with, in particular, a Parisian venue at the beginning of next year, either at the Café de la Danse or the Européan.
N-P: You also help young artists a lot.
C.H.: Yes, I try to find young talents, it amuses me a lot, I enjoy it, and I would like to do more and more of this kind of thing. Right now, I’m working on two projects, but unfortunately, I can’t unveil them today. But as soon as I have the green light, I will let you know. They are two beautiful projects! (Smiling)
N-P: Concert, album, albums for others… What are you expecting today?
C.H.: To do this job as long as possible.
N-P: What is the question that has displeased you in your various interviews?
C.H.: Honestly, I haven’t had any. In general, journalists are very nice to me (Laughs).
N-P: And finally, today if I say “Premier or Première” what do you think of?
C.H.: My first album “Vraie.”
