Officially established in 2001, the association “Tourisme et Handicap” was entrusted by the government with the conditions for awarding the label as well as the mission to concretely assist in its implementation.
Any tourism professional can apply to be labeled, thus it is a voluntary action undertaken by the Office of Tourism and Congresses (O.T.C) of Mandelieu-La Napoule, which commits to ensuring a lasting quality welcome for disabled clients for the four types of disabilities: motor, visual, auditory, and mental.
Efforts have been made in both the layout of the venues and the adaptation of equipment, as well as in the training of personnel who have been specially sensitized to techniques that enable them to offer all audiences, including people with specific needs, pertinent, complete, and adapted information (production of part of the documentation in braille and in a format adapted for the visually impaired, installation of a hearing loop for the hearing impaired…).
It is therefore a good initiative that Mandelieu in the Alpes Maritimes has initiated, which will continue in the coming months with a tourism offer adapted to this type of clientele.
