The Ab Harmoniae Onlus association has existed for many years in Italy, where it enjoys great renown and benefits from the support of the Lombardy region, as well as from the President of the Italian Republic. It was founded by the singer Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni with the aim of participating in the rediscovery of forgotten works and composers from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
Simultaneously, this association pursues humanitarian objectives and strives to demonstrate the therapeutic capacity of music, particularly sung music, for people who are secluded or suffering, in hospitals, prisons or retirement homes, centers for the reintegration of troubled youth, etc.
France now has its own Ab Harmoniae Onlus Association, which has recently been established to mirror the one existing in Italy. As part of its mission, the Association organizes meetings, conferences, themed study days, and educational activities. It has developed a rich program under the dual banner of culture and solidarity, the first milestone of which is this inaugural concert that will take place this Monday, September 15, 2008, at 8 p.m. at the Hotel Negresco (Salon Versailles).
Musicological interventions will be led by Christian Jarniat, journalist and lawyer, and Andrรฉ Peyrรจgne, director of the National Regional Conservatory of Nice.
