A new intervention brigade on the TAM network

jpg_DSC05265.jpgIn a white t-shirt with ‘Tam Security’ printed on the back and black pants, the 32 new agents of the Mobile Security and Prevention Brigade have been operational on the Tam network since September 1st. Seven mobile teams will ensure the security of the TAM network lines across four geographical sectors of the department. They can also intervene on school transport lines and transport on demand (TAD).

Sworn in at the Nice and Grasse courts, these agents will be in constant contact with the 250 bus and coach drivers. Their main mission? โ€œTo be there for the safety of the user and traveler and to mediate between them,โ€ answers Brahim Djebali, a new agent of the BPSM. But also, to prevent conflicts, fight against fraud, control and manage the boarding flows (mainly in winter when passengers are boarding for ski resorts).


A total cost of 2.27 million euros per year

jpg_DSC05267.jpgEquipped with mobile phones, drivers can contact the security PC, located at the Nice bus station, in case of incidents. In contact with the national and municipal police, this PC intercepts all calls and organizes team interventions. In total, the General Council will spend 2.27 million euros per year for this new brigade.

Let’s also recall the efficiency of the Mobile Intervention Brigade (BMI) of the Azur line network. Created in 2000, the BMI operates across the entire urban transport network of the 24 municipalities of Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur. In 2008, 2,160 fraudsters were fined, 3,042 vehicles cleared, 108 vehicles impounded…
As such, the Mobile Security and Prevention Brigade became necessary.
