But, what is the CEDAC? Six centers, 60 artistic, sports, crafts, and recreational disciplines, 7,000 members, 1,300 hours of weekly activities, 154 animators.
These activity and leisure centers focus on proximity, they are designed to meet the expectations of neighborhood residents and offer a great diversity in their activities: “Spaces for human encounters and the development of social links. Leisure practice serves as a support for local conviviality” declares Alexandra Masson-Bettati, President of the CEDAC group.
The 32nd CEDAC season is themed around sustainable development with activities such as an introduction to gardening. A way of teaching children respect for the natural environment and the use of water.
A season focused on three other themes: Contemporary Culture, highlighting young artists from the Nice school such as Ben, Jean Mas, and Sosno, the Union in the Mediterranean, as well as Nicene Traditions.
Activities for Everyone
CEDAC offers a significant number of activities to reach a varied audience. Activities for children from three years old are available, such as baby gym and musical awakening. Senior members also find activities to enjoy, like sewing, gentle gymnastics specifically for seniors, or sophrology.
To meet the growing demands of the citizens of Nice, CEDAC is attempting to establish itself in the city center. Lauriano Azinheirinha, deputy mayor in charge of Education, Youth, Animation, and Leisure, plans to ensure the realization of this project “I am very happy that the CEDAC group is associated with the city of Nice. I will take the time to visit each of the structures [[On October 15 and 22]], meet the animators. I am committed to setting up a new structure in the heart of the city of Nice.”
