On Friday, October 24, 2008, the inauguration of the new “Village, House of solidarity and sharing” took place at Ariane.
After 5 months of complete renovation, the Village is established in a new villa featuring a garden and an area of approximately 650 square meters spread over three levels.
This social center, approved by the CAF (Caisse dโAllocations Familiales), is defined as a “hub of initiatives driven by associated residents, supported by professionals capable of defining and implementing a local social development project.”
The facade of the Village has been entirely redesigned, in partnership with the association Mosaรฏcitรฉs, which created a mosaic symbolizing social connection with the first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 inscribed in full: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.โ This space of citizenship is a place for exchanges, training for individuals, the emergence and experimentation of ideas beneficial to local development and society in general.
The friendly and familial aspect of the location is the result of a contest launched last August by the CCAS of Nice, aimed at finding it a name. Two hundred and thirty proposals were made by the residents of Ariane.
The Village has defined three main priorities: the empowerment of women, assistance in job search for young people, and parenting.
A village that aims to quickly become the beating heart of Ariane.
