Les Restos du Cœur now have four locations in Nice, located on Boulevard Comte de Falicon, Boulevard Verany, in Saint Augustin, and from December 1st on Rue Dabray.
Given the increasing number of families in need, the Comte de Falicon site was becoming too small to accommodate the beneficiaries. Thus, at the request of Les Restos du Cœur, the Alpes Maritimes General Council was able to provide, by agreement and for a duration of three years, a premises of 183m² located at 21 Rue Dabray, at the site of the former PMI (Maternal and Child Protection).
Despite complaints from local residents, the refurbishment work will begin this Monday, November 17, 2008, for an opening on December 1st, the day Les Restos du Cœur will launch their 24th national campaign, which will last until the end of March 2009. In Nice, more than 100 volunteers will mobilize to distribute balanced meals to families in need throughout the winter.
And for a bit of information, Véronique Colucci, Coluche’s widow, assured the Mayor of Nice that next year, the Enfoirés show will take place for the first time in Nice!
