Nice, the Italian capital of the French Riviera!

Latest News

With nearly 30,000 Italians or people of Italian descent living in the Nice region, the Italian community enjoys gathering in various associations and institutions that serve as a bridge between the host country and their country of origin. With a Consulate located on Boulevard Gambetta and its related bodies, the Comites and the Coalcit, individuals have access to a resource and information center, while businesses and professionals can find support at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Nice. Thus, the territory is not unfamiliar in the Niçoise country for the well-organized Italians.

On December 20th, the Comites is organizing a guided tour of the famous Russian church in collaboration with the Parc Impérial neighborhood committee (confirmation: comites-nice@wanadoo.fr or 04 92 15 15 20). Following this, at 6 pm, the Circolo Italiano Giuseppe Garibaldi will host its “panettonata” (panettone evening) in the Comites premises located at 5 Boulevard du Parc Impérial.

On the professional side, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Nice is organizing its Vivere fair in Grasse from December 5th to 7th, while awaiting the delightful “Bread, Love, and Chocolate” fair which will take place in Antibes from February 13th to 15th, 2009.

In short, Italian life continues in Nice, and one almost regrets that a “Casa Italia” (House of Italy) has not yet been established in the heart of one of the most Italian cities in France.
