Before attending a singing class, Pierre granted us a few minutes of his time.
Nice-Premium: Hi Pierre! So, how did your evaluations go?
Pierre: It was very hard, but I gave everything I could. I have to say I was very tired. I only slept 3 hours, but that’s not the only reason. There was also the pressure from last week with the last-minute changes. I focused and gave my all to be as efficient as possible for the evaluations. I think it wasn’t dazzling.
N-P: You still performed an emotional song, “You raise me up”!
Pierre: Yes, absolutely… I was a bit frustrated because I thought I was going to do the whole thing. I learned a little beforehand, when performing in front of the teachers, that I had to sing only the first part. That unsettled me a bit. I still tried to give my maximum.
N-P: You gave us your maximum last week by reaching the first place in the Top 5!
Pierre: Yes, actually, I don’t really realize it. I donโt really follow the scores; even during the prime, I don’t pay much attention to the scores. I try to do my work for myself. Being in first place, yes, of course, itโs pleasing. But, I don’t care about the ranking. First, second, thirdโฆ even if I end up at the bottom. Itโs me who counts in my personal and professional struggle.
N-P: Like for the challenges you set for yourself?
Pierre: Yes.
N-P: Speaking of challenges, you took one on by interpreting “Non siamo soli” with Eros Ramazzotti and Ricky Martin.
Pierre: Yes, but it wasn’t easy. I gave it my all. I always do everything to the max because I don’t have time. We donโt have much time to express ourselves.
N-P: What do you have in store for the prime tonight?
Pierre: So, this week, Iโm going to sing with Florent Pagny, “Mathilde” by Brel. It will be a rock version rearranged by Yvan Cassar. I love it. Iโm going to do a Medley of David Guetta with Alexia. Iโm also really enjoying that. We will also do a trio with Bertrand and Alizรฉe on the song โMoi, Lolitaโ. Itโs going to be super fun!
N-P: Who would you like to sing with?
Pierre: I would have loved to sing with Les Rita Mitsouko. I also love Mathieu Chedid. In fact, I would like to sing with many artists, because each artist brings something. I also dig a Canadian singer: Ariane Moffatt. In the ultimate showdown, it would be Bjork! Some American artists. But with Star Academy, we are very spoiled. Theyโre wonderful gifts. Singing with Boys II Men was huge! I found out in the morning that I had to do choreography during the medley. Boys II Men helped me learn it in 30 minutes. Theyโre great. Then, all day, since I was on set, it was difficult to practice it. As a result, I completely messed up.
N-P: You may have made a mistake, but you were in the song. You guys set the mood on stage!
Pierre: Yes, it was madness! I listened to their songs when I was little. It was awesome!!!
N-P: To finish, what do you think, if I tell you First book:
Pierre: โLa nuit des tempsโ by Renรฉ Barjavel
N-P: First song?
Pierre: โLa vie en roseโ by Piaf
N-P: First movie?
Pierre: Funny movies. I like Fernandel, Louis de Funรจs a lot… โLes gendarmes ร St Tropezโ
N-P: First concert?
Pierre: My first concert was Gilbert Montagnรฉ in Contes.
N-P: First city?
Pierre: Nice
N-P: A place you particularly love in Nice?
Pierre: Old Nice, I love it. I love wandering the alleys of the “Old Town”, as we call it. You enter through the street just opposite the bus station, where thereโs the socca vendor. There are the smells, the atmosphereโฆ the Mediterranean flavors.
