For several years now, various national and local elections have been fueling the web with numerous initiatives: Campaign websites, use of social networks like Facebook or Twitter, and more recently, with iPhone applications or mobile sites. The upcoming cantonal elections in Nice do not seem to be an exception to this rule, but who is really ready at the starting blocks for the next electoral race on the Riviera?
While some have already established their place in the internet bubble, others are rather lagging behind or completely absent from the web just a few months before the first round scheduled for March 20. Certainly, the current general councilors have a slight advantage over their opponents, who will have to design their platform and communication plan in the coming days at the risk of losing the first battle in advance. Of course, losing a battle doesn’t necessarily mean losing the war, but when you know the number of Riviera residents connected to the web via sites or social networks, it’s a shame to forgo this means of communication, which is free once the platform is created.
There is thus a great disparity in terms of candidate websites or blogs, but this is not the case on the famous Facebook, where most of them are already present, communicating more or less effectively with their more or less large number of friends. Personal page, group, or event, Nice candidates are well represented with, among others: Dominique Estrosi Sassone: 610 friends, Frรฉdรฉrique Grรฉgoire Concas: 455 friends, or Catherine Moreau: 111 friends on the candidates’ side, Patrick Mottard: 2445 friends, Benoรฎt Kandel: 556 friends, Daniel Benchimol: 340 friends, Paul Cuturello: 328 friends, or Bernard Baudin: 268 friends on the candidates’ side.
On the website or blog side, Jacques Victor (https://jacquesvictor.over-blog.com/) and Paul Cuturello (https://www.paulcuturello.com/), Dominique Boy Mottard (https://boymottard.wordpress.com/) and Patrick Mottard (https://patrickmottard.blogspot.com/) already have their site due to their position as outgoing general councilors, while Philippe Rossini (https://www.philippe-rossini.fr/) has just launched his new campaign blog. For the moment, there is no trace of the candidates Dominique Estrosi Sassone, Catherine Moreau, Benoรฎt Kandel, Jacques Peyrat, Georges Sgobba, Bernard Baudin, or Daniel Benchimol on the Riviera web.
