The Improvement of France Bleu Azur

Latest News

Here it is, the results from Mรฉdiamรฉtrie’s survey on radio audiences for the period September-December 2010 have been released. And the year is starting off very well for France Bleu Azur, isn’t it? “Yes, we have achieved very good results,” replies Emmanuel Delattre, the director of France Bleu Azur. “There is a very clear increase. In cumulative audience (1), we are in 4th position, behind RMC Info, France Info, and France Inter. Two years ago, we were in 17th place and last year we were 11th. In audience share, France Bleu Azur is in the top three: RMC Info, France Inter, and France Bleu Azur. Two years ago, it was 14th,” he continues.

And yes, this local radio is shining more and more on the airwaves. But what is the secret to this ascent? “We do have the biggest progress. This results from the repositioning of the radio,” replies Emmanuel Delattre.

We must remember that on April 1, 2008, when Emmanuel Delattre took charge of the station, he said, “This radio station will try to be even closer to its listeners. It must be the mirror of the daily life of the residents of the Alpes-Maritimes.” So, it worked for almost two years, not to present the image of the Cรดte d’Azur as it is seen from the outside, but to have the image of the people from here. Today, France Bleu Azur is a radio that “serves. It helps people in their daily lives at all levels. It advises them, entertains them,” presents Emmanuel Delattre. And, it gives them a voice too. From morning till evening, listeners testify, question, comment, tell, and share their daily lives on France Bleu Azur. Notably with the “city stroll” that goes out to meet people every morning in the streets of Nice on a blue bike!

But, actually, who listens to France Bleu Azur? “53% of our listeners are under 60 years old, 36% are between 35 and 59 years old and 11% are between 13 and 34 years old,” replies Emmanuelle Delattre.

And which are the most listened to time slots? “We are first between 6:30 am and 7 am, and between 9 am and 11 am. During these peak listening slots, we are in the lead. We surpass France Inter and RMC Info. We have also made significant progress between 7 am and 8:30 am. Residents of the Alpes-Maritimes wake up with France Bleu Azur. From their waking moment, we try to make their lives easier: smart shopping, efficient commuting… And since March 7, 2009, listeners can wake up 7 days a week with France Bleu Azur,” replies Emmanuel Delattre. Indeed, since this date, the local radio is broadcast during weekend mornings. This has helped retain their listeners and attract new ones!

Clarifications:
โ€“ The 6:30-7 am slot is covered by a dynamic duo: journalist Isabelle Roland and the host Eric Charay. Every morning, they juggle current affairs, technology, and an open line for listeners, not forgetting the traffic updates. Indeed, every morning, listeners can react to a topic. Note that internet users can also leave messages on the France Bleu Azur site (they will be read on-air): Click on Messages to engage on the site. A true interactivity is thus invited every morning on the airwaves! Interactivity is also what the 9 am-11 am slot offers.
โ€“ The 9 am-11 am slot is orchestrated by Adrien Mangano. Around this host, there is a range of guests: experts, gardeners, chef cooks, inspired guests… Explanations: From 9 to 9:30 am, every day, itโ€™s the expertsโ€™ time. No, no, they are not police officers but specialists who advise you at all levels: legal experts, athletes, notaries, doctors, veterinarians, consumer affairs, DIY… These experts are here to answer your questions for free! Another highlight in direct is from 9:35 am to 9:45 am, with the “garden minutes” hosted by Carole Bonaut, where minor issues in your plantations will be resolved. And from 10 to 10:30 am, foodies will be delighted with chef Christian Plumail from the restaurant ‘l’Univers’: a moment of exchange with listeners where recipes flood the airwaves. Not to forget the highlight of the show: the legendary pepper mill sound effect, not to be missed at any cost! This time slot ends beautifully by giving voice to passionate people, personalities from the artistic and cultural world: a dance enthusiast, music, agriculture, sports, nature, marine environment… Occasionally, even celebrities are welcomed to Adrienโ€™s microphone for 30 minutes where Hรฉlรจne Sรฉgara, Nolwen Leroy, Lara Fabian… reveal themselves at his microphone. We are looking forward to the visit of Philippe Candeloro at the occasion of Holyday on Ice on March 5. Speaking of celebrities, every morning at 8:45 am and at 2:45 pm, a range of stars shares their news with us.

Today, France Bleu Azur is present at all the major events on the Cรดte d’Azur: “we are partners with OGC Nice, the Nice-Cannes Marathon, RC Cagnes, Ironman, the Nice Fair, the Nice Carnival, the Lemon Festival… we color our antenna with our partners,” continues Emmanuel Delattre.

To conclude, what are France Bleu Azurโ€™s missions? “France Bleu Azur is a generalist radio, all topics are covered. It is a proximity radio: our DNA is to cover local news, everyday life here. France Bleu Azur is a popular radio: everyone can find themselves here. It is a quality radio.”

France Bleu Azur will be:
