The woman honored at the Femin’Arte festival

Latest News

Women will be in the spotlight from March 6 to 13, 2010, in Antibes and Juan-Les-Pins during the Femin’Arte festival. It was upon hearing the phrase “she paints like a man” on a television show that Fabienne Candela thought, “there is still much to be done to highlight female artists and appreciate them at their true value,” confides Lisa Mathis, the festival’s communications officer. “From there, the Femin’Arte festival was born.” Initially, the event was called Festi Femmes, featuring comedic shows. Then, “the festival expanded to all arts expressed from a female perspective. Painting gained a significant presence. Literature, cinema, music, and dance were incorporated into the festival’s original program,” adds Lisa Mathis.

About sixty artists, women of spirit, heart, and letters, will perform at the café theater La Scène sur Mer in Old Antibes and at the Palais des Congrès in Juan-Les-Pins. Come discover a bewitching and colorful 13th festival reflecting the spirit of women.
