Drap High School: “Aiming for the 2011 School Year”

Latest News

In the year 2000 AD, the regional council of PACA voted to establish a high school that would be located in the town of Drap.

In 2008, the architectural project was presented. It was announced that the school would open in 2011. However, at the dawn of 2010, Michel Vauzelle, the regional president, announced that the opening would be in 2012.

The elected officials of the Paillons Valley embarked on a new obstacle course despite all the conditions being met for construction to begin in the first quarter of 2010. “We have the building permit, the development of the access road by the general council, company consultations, and the allocation of teaching staff and other personnel,” specified Marc Morini.

So, what is the obstacle? The project is facing a regional-level blockage. The fight continues to ensure that young high school students can be educated under good conditions. “There is an urgency. The schools accommodating the children of the valley are all overcrowded,” commented a parent.

After ten years of struggle, on Wednesday, February 24, it was together, elected officials, parents, teachers, and residents of the Paillons, that they demanded the start of construction of the Renรฉ Goscinny high school by symbolically laying the first stone.
