Lysia Lumbrosso: It’s going well! I’ve learned a lot of things! But sometimes it’s a bit boring because watching how to make cuts is good at the beginning, but then…
Steeve Touil: It’s going well; my supervisors are nice and give me the best tasks to do, not the boring ones!
NP: Why did you choose this company?
L. L.: I chose this company because I want to become a stylist and I love manicure. So, I wanted to do an internship related to that.
S. T.: I chose this company because I love technology and electronics.
NP: Do you plan to work in this field?
L. L.: No, but if I don’t manage to work in styling, it would be a possibility. You could say that aesthetics is my plan B.
S. T.: I don’t know… maybe. But if a better opportunity arises, I will take it.
NP: What have you learned during this internship?
L. L.: I’ve learned how to do nails, blow-drying… and even how to sweep the floor since I didn’t know how to do that before! (laughs)
S. T.: I’ve learned how to set up phone lines and talk to clients!
NP: Did you imagine the internship like this?
L. L.: Not really… I would have liked to do more things, learn to do more hairstyles… But since each cut, blow-dry, or color takes a long time, I can’t do much…
S. T.: No, I thought my supervisors would make me work a lot more, but they’re kind to me, so it’s fine.
NP: If you had the chance to do another internship, where would you do it?
L. L.: I would like to do it in a manga store because I love that! I like seeing the different ways they are drawn.
S. T.: Here, at “France Gsm”, because I’m having a blast doing this internship!
NP: Do you think this internship will bring you something in your future professional life?
L. L.: Yes, because if I don’t succeed in styling, I will already know the basics of this job.
S. T.: Yes, I think so because I enjoy talking to clients and explaining the functions of different phone models. And since I want to work in this field, it gives me some basics.
NP: Do you think it’s a good idea to do an internship while still in middle school?
L. L.: Yes, I think so, because it shows us what to expect later.
S. T.: Yes, it gives us a first perspective on the work we might do later.
NP: Is a week enough to get an idea of the “working world”?
L. L.: Yes, we have the time to see everything; a week is perfect.
S. T.: No, I would like to stay longer because there is not enough time to do everything.
NP: Do you regret doing your internship in this company?
L. L.: No, I like the atmosphere because there are a lot of people, and it’s lively. The people I work with are nice and take time to explain things well to me.
S. T.: No, because my supervisors are nice and funny. They explain things well, and although we work, we often laugh, so there’s no tension, and it’s pleasant.
