Latest News

In the world of triathlon, if the name Van Lierde is synonymous with champion; the first name Frederik is also often associated with prestigious titles. The 31-year-old Belgian triathlete boasts an impressive track record: 2nd place in the Ironman New Zealand in 2008, European Long Distance Triathlon Champion in 2007, Belgian Short Distance (1/4) Champion in 2002 and 2005, and European Short Distance Triathlon Vice-Champion in Echternach in 2002.

For his thirteenth season, he has planned to chain two Ironman 70.3 events (New Orleans on April 15, then St Croix on May 2) before competing with full distance athletes in Nice. Undoubtedly, his cycling skills will influence the race dynamics among the male pros on June 27.

His choice of the French Riviera destination is multifaceted: proximity to Belgium and Nice, which corresponds to a certain idea of the “perfect course”. He even considers this race one of his main goals of the season, aiming for the podium. His second challenge, which is no less significant: the top 10 in Hawaii. โ€œIf I achieve either, I will be a fulfilled man!โ€
