“Porchette-rosé” gathering on Swiss Street organized by Nissa Rebela. The reactions of the mayor of Nice and the response from Nissa Rebela, and a question: will it take place?

Reaction of Christian Estrosi, Deputy, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, following the call for a gathering by the Nissa Rebela movement

“The Nissa Rebela movement, whose extremist and xenophobic ideas I fiercely oppose, is making headlines at the beginning of March, just days before the cantonal elections, with its call for a ‘Porchetta – Rosé’ gathering on Rue de Suisse this Friday.
I condemn in the strongest terms this type of provocation, unfortunately typical of this extremist group which has been condemned multiple times, and with whom some candidates have not hesitated to unite for the upcoming elections.
I can only stand against those who incite hatred towards others and call on everyone to respect the values of tolerance and dialogue, values I have always advocated in all my political responsibilities.
Having been made aware of this new provocation by the Nissa Rebela movement several days ago, I immediately alerted the Prefect to the risks associated with holding such a demonstration, especially since I have engaged in a constructive and open dialogue with the Muslim community.
In any case, I am now certain that this demonstration, if it takes place, would be entirely illegal, as not only does it pose a clear threat to public order, but the organizers submitted a late application for the demonstration to the Prefecture (failing to comply with the three full-day notice required by the 1935 decree-law).
Therefore, if the movement leaders decide to go ahead with this demonstration, they expose themselves to severe criminal penalties, including the risk of imprisonment (as per article 431-9 of the penal code, which stipulates 6 months imprisonment and a 7500 euro fine).
As a Deputy, Mayor of Nice, I expect the laws of the Republic to be respected and, as part of our excellent cooperation, the Municipal Police will support, if necessary, the action of the national police, which will intervene to stop the nuisances created by this group.” Christian Estrosi, Deputy, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur.

Porchetta-Rosé Gathering: Politicians and the Prefecture Make Fools of Themselves

Since yesterday, the self-righteous advocates of political correctness and submission have gathered to demand the prohibition of our – although friendly – porchetta-rosé gathering on Rue de Suisse this Friday. Patrick Allemand and Michel Vauzelle for the socialists, communist city councilor Emmanuelle Gaziello, the otherwise very discreet André Minetto and his colleague Hernandez-Nicaise from Europe-Ecology, SOS Racisme (what representation does this group have in our city?), and of course our dear mayor… Christian Estrosi, who is himself the originator of our action, declaring in all media his wish to ban Muslim prayers in the street, yet doing nothing in his own city to stop it!
It is nonetheless amusing to see left-wing elected officials, some of whom claim to be very committed to the secular fight, waking up solely to denounce our “provocation” after having turned a blind eye for months to the only true provocation: the occupation of Rue de Suisse in the name of Muslim religious proselytism and an openly political goal, with the demand for a grand mosque in the center of Nice. Even more striking, communist councilor Emmanuelle Gaziello considers that the blockage of this street by Muslims “does not cause public order disturbances” and even calls for public force to ensure its security!
Let’s also talk about the Prefecture… We have just learned that it is taking refuge behind a fallacious technicality (which would be dismantled in minutes by an administrative court!), using an out-of-time declaration as a pretext to prohibit our gathering on Friday afternoon. Accustomed to the crooked tricks of Prefect Lamy’s teams, we had anticipated this possibility and had already filed (simultaneously with our Friday request) a second application. Now, the Prefect will have to take responsibility and find another reason, and explain why he would ban our porchetta-rosé gathering while tolerating for many months the blockage of Rue de Suisse by the prayers.

– In the meantime, we invite you to join us on Saturday, March 5 at 2:30 PM on Rue de Suisse: enough with the halal neighborhood!
NISSA REBELA
