The Academy of Nice is about to experience an important moment as Madame le Recteur has agreed to request the opening of a first session of the Diploma of Language Competence (specialty Occitan).
The services of the Ministry of National Education (DGESCO) have approved the organization of this exam by our Academy of Nice, thus joining those of Bordeaux, Montpellier, and Toulouse.
It is essential that the maritime and alpine Provence, as well as the County of Nice, be present at this major step: the professional recognition of their own language.
DIPLOMA OF LANGUAGE COMPETENCE – OCCITAN
“The DCL is a diploma from the National Education created to facilitate the assessment of language skills in a professional context.”
“It can be taken regardless of one’s level of degree or education. The DCL complies with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).” It now covers 12 languages, including Occitan.
