As Japan goes through particularly painful times and a threat still looms over the safety of the Japanese population, the people of Nice express their sincere and profound compassion towards the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck the country on March 12.
The initiatives planned in Nice are:
- Meeting of Christian Estrosi with the representatives of the Azur Japanese community;
- Establishment of a support and guidance unit for the Azur Japanese community and for the families from Nice who have a relative in Japan.
Organization of a charity concert, in partnership with the France-Japan association, on April 1, 2011, at 6 PM at the CUM. Piano and singing recital with Miura-Belkin-Maki and a Japanese singer from the Monte-Carlo Opera.
To relay the donation appeals of the Red Cross. Donations can be made by check payable to “The French Red Cross Japan Disaster 2011” at the City Hall or annex town halls.
