In celebration of the Fête de la Musique, the Children’s Choir of the Nice Opera will offer a concert to the people of Nice on Monday, June 21, 2010, at 6:00 PM on the forecourt of the Opera. Under the direction of their conductor Philippe Négrel, they will perform:

Arico Jr: The Fanfare; Salvador/Vian: Secondhand Trumpet; Purcell: Shame to the Trumpet; Erdmann: Sharmanka; Kosma/Prévert: The Barrel Organ; Lafarge-Philippe/Blanche-Cab: The Music Boxes; Datin/Nougaro: Jazz and Java; Schubert: Hymn to Music; Mozart: Canon “Figaro”.

Additionally, on Sunday, June 27, 2010, auditions will be held for recruitment for the 2010/2011 season. These auditions are open to all boys and girls aged 8 to 16 with a passion for singing and performing, and preferably, those already taking music lessons (theory and instrument). Children who join this ensemble have the privilege of being constantly surrounded by a team of professionals and can, therefore, work to give their best. The provision of their training is completely free. Rehearsals take place throughout the school year on Wednesday afternoons and Friday evenings at the Nice Opera.
