She is the communication director of OGC Nice but above all one of its most fervent supporters. Virginie Rossetti is the driving force behind the scenes preparing for this big event that all the Gym fans are waiting for, the semi-final of the Coupe de France against Lille. A few days before this clash, she confides in Nice Premium to set the tone for this great adventure.
Nice Premium: Virginie, how are the reservations going for Nice-Lille?
Virginie Rossetti: It’s going great, we’ve already sold more than 13,000 tickets! All signs are positive for a beautiful celebration and a packed Stade du Ray is the first ingredient!
NP: What does a Coupe de France semi-final change in the life of the club?
It creates enthusiasm, a big excitement at all levels of the Club. We, the administrative team, have the incredible chance to work alongside a very humane staff and players who are very close to us. So we are living the event to the fullest.
NP: In a few weeks, the club got out of the danger zone and reached a semi-final, a return to great form in the red and black home?
We all have the date of April 19th in the back of our minds, but to be honest, today we’re still talking more about staying up than anything else. We’re well aware that this is the absolute priority. The victory at Saint-Etienne was perceived as a relief far greater than the victory at Reims.
NP: As the communication director, you must be pleased with so much positivity?
The little experience I have now (7 years at the club) allows me today to temper my character, whether after 3 defeats or 3 victories. Things move too quickly in one direction or the other to fall into catastrophism or hysteria. That’s what’s beautiful about this job, the emotions are never the same and constantly evolve.
But I admit that the current period is very exciting, especially since some people had quickly written us off. Unfortunately for them, we’re still here!!!
NP: Nice-Lille will also be a big celebration of Azuréan football, any surprises planned?
We are working on several things… The first surprise of course is the big efforts by the directors on the ticket prices! The Ray is going to be sizzling, the atmosphere torrid!!
Additionally, several projects are underway, such as the release of a special and free magazine that will flood the City well before time!! A distribution of thousands of flags in the stands, lots of surprises like the kick-off that should set the Ray even more on fire!
We want the entire City, all the people of Nice to support the team for this ticket to the Stade de France!!! That everyone hangs flags, scarves on their shutters! Likewise, that all public offices, merchants, buses, trams… display the Gym’s colors! The whole of Nice needs to be in red and black!!
NP: Finally, if the gym gets its ticket to the final, what match would you like to attend in Paris?
Attend… I would rather say “go and live”!! It doesn’t matter… even if the icing on the cake would be to play Paris at their home… and beat them, of course!
