As part of the national sustainable development week, which will take place from April 1 to 7, a whole day will be dedicated to the principles of sustainable development.

STANDS AND ACTIVITIES
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Rue Saint Sébastien
Several stands bringing together various local actors from the private, public, and associative sectors will offer the public activities:
• CASA information point on energy, housing, waste, sustainable transport, and natural areas.
• Household product-making workshops (every hour, with registration at the Environmental Platform of the Town Hall, cost €2 per person per workshop. Remember to bring a container with a closure (bottle, jar…) to take away a sample).
• Demonstration and free trial of electric vehicles.
• Friendly tours in electric cars.
• Activities around organic products (hot wax massages, body care…).
• Presentation of integration work projects.
• Presentation of vermicomposting.
• Presentation of local environmental issues by environmental protection associations.
• Launch of the TICELEC project (PACA Region’s call for projects “Act Together”) to help Biot households manage their energy consumption (partnership between the Town of Biot, the GREDEG research laboratory – Joint Research Unit University of Nice Sophia Antipolis/CNRS, the Research Center in Economics of Sciences PO, and the startup Ubinode).
– Natural products will also be available for sale:
• Jewelry, crafts, cosmetics, clothing, organic food products, and fair trade coffee.
• Organic cosmetics.
• Textiles and accessories in organic cotton (men, women, children, babies, pregnant women).
• Natural textiles in wool from the Alpes-Maritimes (clothing, hats, accessories, rugs, knitting wool).
• Local productions of goat cheese, flowers, organic fruits and vegetables, olive oil and paste, jam, honey, dried tomatoes, gingerbread, chestnut cream, chestnut flour.
– DOCUMENTARY SCREENING-DISCUSSION:
“From Sustainable Development to Fair Trade”
7 p.m. – Salle des Associations
To close this day, a screening-discussion will take place in the Salle des Associations at 7 p.m.
The documentary “From Sustainable Development to Fair Trade,” produced by the association Artisans du Monde, will be shown to better understand the concepts of sustainable development and fair trade. It consists of four sequences of about 10 minutes each:

Activist portraits It will be followed by a discussion led by the association.

– AWARENESS ACTIONS IN BIOT PRIMARY SCHOOLS
-On April 4, 5, and 7, the School Affairs Service, in partnership with the Méditerranée 2000 association, offers workshops on environmental issues in the primary schools of the municipality:
April 4 at the Eugène Olivari school
April 5 at the Moulin Neuf school
April 7 at St Roch and Paul Langevin schools.
-In each school in the city, students will participate in a workshop led by the Méditerranée 2000 association during the extracurricular time from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
– With the “mini-market” workshop, senior section students will do their shopping at the “mini-market” while explaining their choices. The exchanges will address the concept of responsible consumption (labels, reduction of packaging at the source, recycled packaging, reuse…).
– Through questions, the “eco-house” workshop aims to introduce children of small and medium sections to all the useful eco-friendly actions at home: sorting, composting, energy savings, water consumption…
