In 2011, for its 10th edition, the FORIIC marks a decisive turn. Previously held over one day, the International Forum of Citizen Information will now take place over 3 days, filled with meetings, exchanges, and debates. Fascinating encounters on the theme of media will attract professionals, students, and the general public.

The objective of this FORIIC is to engage current and future citizens with information, make them critical, and raise awareness about media decoding through various workshops, stands, and debates. The active and civic approach is made possible by the participation of 150 media professionals. Ivan Levaï, André Bercoff, Jean-Michel Blier, Philippe Cohen, and many others will be present during these days. All media formats will be represented, all trends, and all experts (journalists, lawyers, psychologists, sociologists, etc.) will be present.

3 days of forum

On March 31st, professionals are invited to participate in this event through interesting and constructive exchanges. The program includes visits and a VIP evening at Sophia-Antipolis, a leading technology park. Valbonne and its artistic and cultural heritage will be unveiled.

On April 1st, young students will have the opportunity to discover the world of media, understand the issues of today’s information, and learn all the techniques of journalism. The educational community and the youth will gather at the International Center (CIV). Sixteen conferences and a hundred practical workshops will follow one another. The goal is to develop young people’s interest in current events by putting them in direct contact with major media professionals who will present the intricacies of the profession. Additionally, the day aims to show how information is constructed to foster responsible attitudes.

Finally, on Saturday, April 2nd, the general public will be able to meet these media platforms to exchange, understand, and learn through media stands, eight conferences, book signings, and exhibitions.
