The City of Cagnes-sur-Mer has been committed for years to raising awareness among its citizens, and more broadly, French consumers, about quality food, the rediscovery of traditional products, and the artisanal culture of “eating well,” opposing the homologation of products and flavors, a direct consequence of the ever more widespread “fast food” diet.
The Nice Chamber of Commerce, also sensitive to this topic, has participated in the creation of the project and, thanks to its skills and experience in organizing events and exhibitions, is involved in its realization.
“Quality products” and “food education” are the two pillars of “Maรฎtres du Goรปt,” which will be divided into two sections:
- the local products market, a showcase dedicated to high-quality artisanal products not available in large distribution channels.
- the demonstrations and conferences area: 200 square meters dedicated to spreading the culture of healthy and authentic eating, with workshops, conferences, and numerous demonstrations offered by the Escoffier Hospitality School in the City of Cagnes-sur-Mer. The presence of the Slow Food Southeast and Principality of Monaco Convivium will further allow the public to learn about the Slow Food philosophy.
The event also gives significant importance to educating the taste of the young: demonstrations, workshops, and educational games will help train the young “Taste Students” in the values of quality food.
The intention of the two organizers is to promote the culture of rediscovering the true flavors of the land and tradition, thus creating on the Cรดte d’Azur a significant event linked to the Slow Food philosophy.
