Before the OGC Nice-AS Monaco derby begins, the two presidents Gilbert Stellardo and Yvon Grosso presented and signed the agreement that will bind the two entities for the coming years.
It is the first time that a club and an institution like UMPE 06 have joined forces to bring two worlds, which have long been wrongly separated, closer together. The worlds of sports and business are very often complementary.
The sponsor/club relationship is far from being the only possible connection between two parties that stand to gain much from this union in the form of a new team with stated ambitions. We can only hope this example will be followed by many others to the greatest benefit of the clubs and businesses in the French Riviera.
The purpose of the partnership agreement is to:
Facilitate contacts and develop relationships between the club and economic actors, particularly through information and awareness actions among professional federations and all businesses in the area.
Develop the club’s social responsibility through a program of actions and partnerships, including a program for social inclusion through sports.
Contribute to drafting the OGCN CA club project, defining its business plan, and choosing its strategic directions.
Help OGCN develop its social role, particularly in neighborhoods, by promoting the values of sport (health, fair play, respect for others, etc.) through joint operations.
Contribute to the creation of an endowment fund (a non-profit legal entity under private law), thus equipping the club with a modern tool for sports patronage, allowing individuals and private companies to get involved, through donations and tax incentives, alongside the club in a civic and social approach.
Yvon Grosso, president of UPE 06: “Through the implementation of this agreement, we wish to establish three principles: first, to enhance the OGCN training center and help make it a center of excellence for training young athletes from the French Riviera. Then, by assisting OGCN in its renovation project for this essential tool for all major clubs, we’ll raise awareness among companies about directing the apprenticeship tax to the OGCN Association. Next, partnering in the development of the club’s strategic project to create programs where football serves as an educational tool and a relay for messages of general interest, whether it concerns public health, civics, or environmental awareness. And finally, contribute to social and civic actions, particularly in initiatives for social inclusion through sports and the reintegration of athletes.”
