The Brotherhood of the Order of the Scottish Whisky Tasters France, Alpes Maritimes Branch (C.O.T.W.E.) organized, as it does every year, its “Ladies’ Gala” evening at the Nice Hotel School on Friday, December 3, 2010. All the ingredients were in place for a wonderful evening full of charm.
The Brotherhood of the Order of the Scottish Whisky Tasters France Alpes Maritimes Branch (C.O.T.W.E.) is an association under the 1901 law aimed at strengthening Franco-Scottish friendships, contributing to the knowledge of the historical friendship between France and Scotland, and above all, developing among its members a spirit of friendship, mutual assistance, and mutual understanding.
This Brotherhood was born in March 1965 thanks to the personal friendship between Clan Mackinlay and Roger Crosnier, and also due to the twinning of two cities, Edinburgh in Scotland, and Nice in France. This is how the Alpes Maritimes Branch became the first link in a history that continues today.
The Board of Directors meets 8 times a year. Bi-monthly “Dinner-Dance” evenings with whisky tasting, but the Brotherhood also organizes country outings in August and in December holds the Ladies’ Gala to honor them.
The Brotherhood, represented by its President Commander Jean-Claude DAUVILLIERS, organized the Ladies’ Gala on Friday, December 3, 2010, at the Nice Hotel School.
Ninety people attended this highly successful evening, featuring a top-notch menu served with flair by the students of the Hotel School and animated by Francisco until late into the night. It must be said that joy, good humor, respect, and kindness were present throughout the evening, where the Ladies dressed in white with a Scottish scarf and the Gentlemen in Scottish jackets.
