coquinou-2-2.jpg But who better than Vincent Piguet to tell us about his Coquinou. After an eventful year that took him from TV shows with Laurent Ruquier to the theater stage performing Feydeau.

Here he is back on the Côte d’Azur to present his second show “Vincent Piguet is a Coquinou” which skillfully blends humor, singing, and dancing in a comic frenzy that will take your breath away, if you can catch it back.

So, are you available next Thursday and Friday? Don’t hesitate to book as it’s not certain there will be enough for everyone…

Nice Premium: Vincent Piguet, Le Coquinou is back in Nice at the Nice Jazz Comedy for two evenings?

Vincent Piguet: Indeed, I will be performing my “One Man Show” at the Jazz Comedy on Thursday the 17th at 8:30 PM and Friday the 18th of January at 7:30 PM. It is always an honor and a great pleasure to perform in Nice and on the Côte d’Azur.

NP: We’ve seen you on TV with Ruquier but also on a theater stage, I believe?

VP: Regarding television, I did 2 sketches with Ruquier and I am currently co-writing with Artus, the top comedian of the show. Our latest sketch just received a record score of 99/100.

On the theater side, during this year 2013, I will be taking the lead role in four Feydeau plays with the Gazoline company. A great acting experience. At the end of 2012, we already performed the first one, and I had a blast. It must be said that it remains comic, and for that, I have the rhythm and the mechanics of laughter.

NP: Any other projects in the coming months?

VP: Besides my theater projects, I will be playing my One Man Show in Paris just after Nice because Chantal Ladessous wants to see it. We have been in contact for a few months, and she might be interested in co-writing. Also, her advice could be valuable. And, if such a great lady of comedy could direct me or become my mentor in the business, it would be fantastic…

In early February, I am participating in the Mont Dore Mountain Humor Festival in Auvergne with many talented comedians. Then, I will continue my tour in cities like Saint Étienne, Mâcon, and Toulon, ending in Lyon for six weeks at the end of 2013.

NP: You recently celebrated the 2nd anniversary of your show. How is your first “baby” doing?

VP: “Vincent Piguet is a Coquinou” is actually my second show. The first one being “I hadn’t planned,” a series of sketches forming a gallery of wacky characters, which introduced me to the public from 2005 to 2009.

Since then, I have been performing this second work, more complete, more original because it is a real story. The characters intertwine to form a well-crafted story, with twists and turns, and the audience is kept on the edge by the plot, which is rare for a one-man show.

I dance, I sing, but above all, it’s very funny. In 2012, it was acclaimed by critics at the Tahiti Laughter Festival as well as the Avignon OFF.

NP: And the next one in the works?

VP: For now, I’m often solicited for theater roles or TV series, but I have already established the plan for “Coquinou 2”. Given the success my play has met with, I feel obliged to give a sequel to the audience. What will become of this happy fool?

NP: What does Nice mean to you?

VP: To me, Nice means vacations, the sun, family, and friends I have in the area. But also the stuffed vegetables, pissaladière, socca, gnocchi, and of course, a good pastis in old Nice.

NP: And finally, what will make your stay the best?

VP: That the audience is there and that Miss Côte d’Azur throws her little panties at me at the end! LAUGHS.
