In accordance with the sustainable development component of the policy implemented in the Metropolis, Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur, will sign a dual agreement concerning the education and awareness of children on the theme of the environment with the national education and Cofely Services GDF Suez.
The first signature will concern the renewal of the tripartite partnership agreement for the implementation, within schools, of an educational program on education and awareness of sustainable development.
The second will concern raising students’ awareness of energy savings.
Educating children about the environment and sustainable development
Implemented within schools, this agreement reaches nearly 7,500 children in the Metropolis. Among the actions carried out:
the implementation of educational activities within schools and the Environment House (more than 452 classes are involved).
The following themes will be addressed: sea, water, noise, birds, selective collection… these activities are part of a path to raise awareness about environmental protection, materialized by the “ECO-LIER” passport.
Food health will be the subject of a new chapter in the ECO-LIER passport to teach students the necessity of a varied diet.
