As part of the International Year of Forests, and for the second consecutive year, the Pôle Azur Provence Urban Community is participating in the 5th edition of the Nature Festival “The Unusual at Your Doorstep”.

The Nature Festival is a national event that allows everyone to experience an exceptional moment at the heart of the most remarkable natural sites… or the most everyday ones! The 2011 edition, which has been held since May 16 in this territory, invites everyone to discover and share the unusual aspects of nature, sometimes right on their doorstep.
The Nature Festival was created in 2007, initiated by nature protection actors, gathered within IUCN France (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and the magazine Terre Sauvage.
It is an exceptional opportunity to share the natural beauties and wealth that surround us, and to understand the importance and stakes of biodiversity protection.
Participating in this event is a fun and educational way to raise awareness that our territory deserves all our attention and respect. Thanks to the mobilization of associations, libraries, professionals, and volunteers from the 5 municipalities, the public, young and old, athletic or not, will be invited to discover “unusual” nature free of charge through naturalist and heritage walks, conferences, workshops, and shows.
The Nature Festival will start on Monday, May 16 (with schools) and will end on Saturday, May 21, across all the municipalities of Pôle Azur Provence, Auribeau/Siagne, Grasse, Mouans-Sartoux, Pégomas, and La Roquette-sur-Siagne.
It will take place over 6 days to allow everyone, notably schools and leisure centers, to participate in the event.
