The other cities chosen by the French Football Federation are Saint-Denis, Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nancy, Lyon, and Lens.
Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, is pleased with the choice of the French Football Federation which, as expected, has selected Nice among the 9 cities that will host the Euro football tournament in 2016.
“It is a great pride to see Nice officially listed among the cities that will host Euro 2016, but it is not a surprise since from the beginning, the French Football Federation recognized the quality and seriousness of our bid.
It is simply a confirmation that Nice will offer the best conditions for hosting such an event with the upcoming construction of the future Nice stadium, which will begin in August.
A stadium with 35,000 seats, modern, innovative, and functional, which will meet all the UEFA requirements as well as those we have imposed on ourselves regarding sustainable development and renewable energies.”
