The ESN Nice (Erasmus Student Network) association, currently the only association for welcoming international students in Nice, in partnership with the International Relations of the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis and the City of Nice, is organizing the International Students Welcome Day this Friday, February 1, 2013, throughout the city.
This event takes place at the beginning of each semester and aims to welcome new incoming international students, greet them, and integrate them into the life of Nice. The association is also responsible for promoting international mobility among French students, a promotion that will also be highlighted during this welcome day.
On Friday, February 1, different campuses of the University of Nice will be visited to promote mobility among French students and to talk to them about the mentoring system, an opportunity to discover a new culture or even improve a language thanks to international students.
In the late afternoon, a conference will take place on the St Jean d’Angely campus, this time aimed at international students. The purpose of this conference is to welcome new students on mobility and guide them by explaining what each stakeholder (UNS, City of Nice, ESN Nice) offers them as international students. The conference will be followed by a small free buffet of Nice specialties for the students.
The program:
CAMPUS TOUR from 9 am to 4 pm
Participating campuses: Carlone, Valrose, Trotabas, IUT Fabron, Saint Jean d’Angély (IAE, ISEM), Polytech, IUP
Description: During the day, members of the ESN Nice team will visit the participating campuses to welcome new international students and promote mobility through stands designed for this purpose by ESN Nice and the International Relations Offices.
- WELCOME AT SAINT JEAN D’ANGELY FROM 6 pm to 7 pm:
ESN Nice welcomes international students and speakers
Information and registration stand at ESN (card sales), distribution of Welcome Packs, mentoring, activities, flag game, survey on the perspectives of foreign students in Nice
- CLOSING CONFERENCE FROM 7 pm to 9 pm:
Presentation of speakers and welcome speeches, videos of the city of Nice and the University of Nice, welcome speeches to new students by the UNS, welcome speeches to new students by the City of Nice
