There were between 500 and 1,000 protesters on Saturday afternoon in front of the prefectural palace, voicing their opposition to marriage for all. A spontaneous and popular movement organized by “La Manif pour Tous 06”.

Many were holding signs with a clear message, “marriage for all, an aberration”. For these protesters, the “problem” is above all the right to adoption for same-sex couples and medically assisted procreation.
Eric Ciotti, Deputy and President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, was with the protesters as he had announced, and one could also see Jacques Peyrat and the Nice identity group there. Christian Estrosi, the Deputy Mayor of Nice, declined the invitation but nevertheless announced that he would lead the debate in Parliament.
