The descent into hell continues for Mladen Kasic’s players. Last night, at home, against Harnes, the Nice Volley Ball team was defeated 1-3 in the 15th day of Ligue B. This is the fourth consecutive defeat for the Eagles.
2012 is off to the worst possible start for the Nice Volley Ball club. After a home defeat against St Quentin and another last weekend at St Nazaire, the Azureans needed to respond last night against Harnes, the leader with a 6-point lead at kickoff. But this reaction did not happen. Captain Jokanovic’s teammates once again faltered at Salle Palmeira, losing 3 sets to 1.
The Nordics soar and now have a 9-point lead over the Eagles. It is safe to say that the first place, allowing direct promotion to Ligue A, is now out of reach for the Niรงois. Worse still, if tomorrow Alรจs and Chaumont win against St Nazaire and Orange respectively, coach Kasic’s players will drop two places in the rankings and find themselves in 6th place. Let us recall that only the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the championship will qualify for the playoff phase, which determines the second club to join the elite.
The situation is becoming very serious for Nice Volley Ball, whose goal is to be promoted back to Ligue A this year after being relegated to Ligue B last season. They will absolutely have to bounce back next week at Plessis-Robinson.
