Mountain gastronomy greatly enhances the appeal of a mountain village and a ski resort.


logo-chefs.jpg The FISAC of the Mercantour resorts, driven by the Association of merchants and artisans of Saint-Etienne de Tinée – Auron and sponsored by Jean-François Issautier, a local, decided to organize the first edition of “Chefs on the Summit of Auron”, in collaboration with “The Toqués Hit the Slopes” by Gérard Grech and Email-gourmand.

On this occasion, five Michelin-starred chefs, Didier Aniès, Jacques Chibois, Philippe Jego, Patrick Raingeard, Emmanuel Ruz, and Stéphanie Le Quellec, winner of Top Chef 2011, will prepare a dinner on Monday, January 30, in the resort’s restaurants and a lunch on Tuesday, January 31, in establishments located on the Auron slopes, with the help of Ronan Kernen, chef at Côté Cour in Aix-en-Provence, and the pastry chefs of Apreca for the desserts.

During these four days, in the Forum hall and on the slopes, this festival will present various activities with the Apreca pastry chefs.

Hervé Busson, the chef of the Grill Eden Roc at Cap d’Antibes, will introduce mountain gourmet cuisine.

Jean-François Issautier will present Stéphane cuisine (Saint-Etienne de Tinée) and a competition for the best Stéphane dish, open to festival-goers, with the participation of the “Chefs on the Summit” as part of the jury.

Another highlight is the exceptional participation in this festival of “The Toqués Hit the Slopes”, the event organized by Gérard Grech. For their 4th edition, this event will be held on Monday, January 30, for a day of relaxation and conviviality,
