Latest News

The association “Nice Comโ€™Talents,” composed of 4 students from the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Vรฉniellement, is organizing an event on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Nice, bringing together young talents from Nice in cuisine and photography for a culinary competition and a photo exhibition. This event will take place starting at 7:00 PM at Le Ligure, a restaurant renowned for its commitment to Nice’s values, under the patronage of its host, Frรฉdรฉric Champy.

The event “Nice from Yesterday and Today” will be an opportunity for the region’s young culinary talents to perform in front of an audience of professionals and amateurs through a cooking contest. The challenge, which involves revisiting traditional dishes from Nice, will be led by a jury of several starred chefs, who will assess the boldness and originality of the contestants, who come from the main hotel schools in the region.

The Revisited Nice Cuisine

The public will also admire the techniques of pastry chef Romuald GUIOT, who will offer a demonstration of pastry creation, while enjoying a cocktail dinner honoring local and regional producers, partners of the event. Among its guests, the event “Nice from Yesterday and Today” will welcome big names in gastronomy such as Phillipe JEGO, a starred chef and Best Craftsman of France, Nathalie BOUCHET of the Culinary Academy of France, as well as Xavier Malandran, finalist of the amateur competition Masterchef 2011.

A Retrospective of the City of Nice from Yesterday to Today

The city of Nice, known for its colorful and warm cuisine, also boasts a distinctive cultural heritage, unique to its history. The event “Nice from Yesterday and Today” therefore aims to highlight the beauty and charm of this typically Provenรงal city. Le Ligure, the “Niรงois” themed restaurant chosen for the event, will host recent photographs of the city of Nice taken by young talents from Nice, such as Rรฉmi Garcia, to complement the “archive” images collection already presentโ€”the idea being to visually trace the past of the city of Nice from 1860 to today.

A Unifying Event Rich in Opportunities

With the desire to promote cultural heritage and the development of young talents from Nice, the Nice Com’ Talents association aims to create a unifying and intergenerational event. The latter seeks to bring together cooking and photo enthusiasts, lovers of Nice’s culture, and the general public. It is also an opportunity to (re)discover the city of Nice through its culture from 1860โ€”the date of its annexation to Franceโ€”up to the present day.
