As part of the Eco Event Charter, several recycling ambassadors were present every evening at the Nice Jazz Festival 2011 to raise public awareness about:
– Reducing,
– Sorting,
– Reusing,
– Recycling waste.
During the five evenings of celebrations at the Nice Jazz Festival 2011, 600 kg of sorted waste and 1320 kg of various waste were collected by city agents at the 60 “Totem Tri-Propreté” locations (these amounts do not include waste collected in VIP stands and commercial food stalls).
Additionally, with the association “Les Bouchons d’Amour,” 20 kg of plastic caps were collected over the course of the festival for recycling; the proceeds from this collection (resale to a collector) will help finance equipment for people with disabilities.
Finally, more than 11,000 individual ashtrays were distributed to maintain the cleanliness of the site.
