Press Week at School: From the Newsdealer to School… to Digital Radio at the College!

Latest News

First day of this school press week and already two events took place this Monday in schools in Nice: Dubouchage nursery school and Louis Nucรฉra secondary school. Two new experiences shared between the world of the press and media and that of education.

Yesterday morning from 9 am, Mrs. Perriol’s senior class students went to meet the neighborhood newsagent. After about ten minutes of walking, the small class arrived at their destination: the tobacco-news shop “Le Barla”. Diego Lasevoli, the manager, welcomed them. After a tour of the establishment where the students discovered newspapers and other magazines, he invited them to the neighboring bakery for a small snack: fruit juice and pastries on the menu. Each student also received a bag containing various magazines and books. Back at school, the students met two journalists, Sebastien Mansour (Direct Nice) and Alice Rousselot (Nice-Matin), and press photographer Richard Ray. It was an opportunity for them to learn how a newspaper is constructed and to learn press vocabulary.

At 10:30 am at Louis Nucรฉra secondary school, in the Bon Voyage district, the “Radio Mรดmes” initiative was launched, a new initiative of the “Eclair” system, spearheaded by Evelyne Luciani (school teacher), allowing young secondary school students to prepare and record various audio segments (interviews, radio news, etc.) and to soon upload them to a web platform. It was the President of the General Council, Eric Ciotti, who inaugurated this new concept by participating in a Q&A session with the budding young journalists and listening to the first productions of their classmates. “It’s an excellent initiative, and the result is impressive.”

Under the impetus of CLEMI, “RadioMรดmes.fr” is therefore taking off, with workshops that will allow students to learn to work on sound but, above all, to write their columns and to voice them. This initiative was created for middle school students and the CM1/CM2 students of Louis Nucรฉra secondary school and three Nice school groups in networks within the framework of the Eclair system (Schools, secondary schools, and high schools for ambition, innovation, and success). Joรซl Matthieu, the Principal of the establishment, will then present the CDI in which several middle school works are displayed, as well as the front pages of major daily newspapers.

Tomorrow, itโ€™s Nice Premium that will be live from the CRDP with a 4th-grade class that will participate in a “Digital Front Page” operation that will allow them to experience a newsroom meeting on a subject to be covered and various actions that will allow them to make the front page of our daily newspaper Thursday morning. The theme this year is “The National Brevet Diploma.” On the agenda for this workshop is an interview with the Rector, Claire Lovisi, and people involved in the Brevet process and a visit to the Rectorate of Nice and the means put in place for this diploma.
