Yvon Grosso, president of MEDEF 06 and UPE 06, and Bruno Valentin, Vice-president of MEDEF 06 and UPE 06, presented “Besoin dโaire,” the digital book edited under the direction of Laurence Parisot, President of MEDEF. “Besoin dโaire” outlines MEDEFโs proposals for the presidential campaign, 23 approaches for equitable competitiveness.
The proposals of MEDEF are centered around four major priorities:
A much more integrated European governance towards a United States of Europe; a better-regulated world; a reinvented France that will know how to organize competitive debt reduction and engage in new markets; and finally, a humanistic ambition and a promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit.
But let’s hear from Yvon Grosso, president of UPE06, who clarifies:
โThere are three types of competitiveness, all of which are closely linked, and for our businesses to succeed, for France to become optimistic again, for it to believe again that our children can live as well and even better than us, none should be neglected.
There is price competitiveness. But, our manufacturing costs are higher than the European average…
There is non-price competitiveness because the competition between businesses from all countries also plays out on the quality of products, on their position within their category, on their level of innovation, on their ability to revolutionize or reshape the overall offer.
There is psychological competitiveness, similar to what athletes call mental strength, which gives wings, or at the very least boosts self-confidence and often makes the difference and the greatest impact when merits are equal.โ
