Annoyed by this unfortunate mix of roles, Frédérique Grégoire-Concas, a municipal councilor (PS) of Nice, and Jean-Christophe Picard, head of Anticor 06, had already appealed to the Prefect last October, so that the Association of Friends of Nicolas Sarkozy would at least pay the fee due for the two-day occupation of the Jardin de Cimiez…°
Having received no response, they are now appealing to the Public Prosecutor regarding these potentially illegal actions of interest and embezzlement*.
For the two complainants, it is not acceptable for public money to be used to finance gatherings between fans of the former president. “The taxpayers of Nice do not all wish to be friends of Nicolas Sarkozy!” they protest.
Especially since this is not the first time taxpayers have been involuntarily solicited… In fact, last July, deputy Christian Estrosi sent his voters, in a letter paid by the National Assembly, a membership form for the Association of Friends of Nicolas Sarkozy. Following a complaint lodged by Jean-Noël Falcou, a member of Anticor 06, the Prosecutor’s Office launched, since January 23, 2013, a preliminary investigation for misappropriation of public funds.
