The Cavigal, a historic club
The Cavigal is a multi-sports club born in 1943 from the association of three Nice-based clubs: Casino, Victorine, and Gallia. Today, with its 13 sections, its 3,700 members, and its several thousand former members, the club continues to uphold the “Cavigal Spirit” instilled by the great leaders who have worked so hard.
The founders aimed to unite energies to make sports accessible to as many young people as possible, especially those from modest backgrounds, and to convey noble values associated with sports, such as the taste for effort, self-improvement, respect for others, adherence to rules, teamwork, and a sense of solidarityโtruly a school for life.
Cavigal actively contributes to the sporting prestige of Nice Cรดte dโAzur. The club has had several great presidents since 1943: Pierre Arco, Jacques Cotta, Marcel Gratecos, Charles Ehrmann, Franรงois Cerutti, Roger Nicoletti, Daniel Olivieri, Suzanne Blanc, Maurice Cohen, and, since 2009, Diego Noto.
