As part of the upcoming contemporary art itinerary organized throughout the city of Nice by the BOTOX[S] network, the Chantier Sang Neuf becomes a new stop on the VISITEURS DU SOIR route with the “Visionary Crossing of Our Wall(s)” – “a route within the route” on a yet-undiscovered path of the vacant site.
There you will discover modules by Stefan Shankland designed in collaboration with graphic designer Frédéric Teschner, art videos by Nicolas Clair, Rachel Laurent, Florian Pugnaire and David Raffini, programmed by L’ECLAT and curated by Sophie Duez, a proposal by Christophe Lemaitre, artist in residence at L’Espace de l’Art Concret, a contemporary art center in Mouans-Sartoux, the production Rush de chantier by L’ECLAT, with the possibility of a guided tour of the site and attending a round table titled “installing images: for a perception in motion” with eminent speakers.
According to Sophie Duez: “The Visionary Crossing of Our Wall(s) gives visual expression to Stefan Shankland, L’ECLAT, and Christophe Lemaitre, for the production and installation of still images, the programming and scenography of moving images, or a possible appearance-disappearance of sensitive images. Chantier Sang Neuf continues its quest for possibilities, its pursuit of the invisible, and its ‘sharing of sensitivities’ in an unexplored route of the site.”
“The slaughterhouses have already evolved. Into a theater of operations of poetic real estate, a questioning of its walls: renovation, security, deconstruction, restoration, inspection, exploration, habitation, function… The projection of ideas is in full swing, fighting the void, haunting the walls…”
Thank you for reminding us, because, quite frankly, we hadn’t really noticed. It might be worth remembering that if the sun reflects in the mirror and makes it shine, the sun will always remain the sun and the mirror just a simple piece of glass!
